Hope you are all enjoying your new year! Hoping 2008 will be the best one yet, not necessarily only in game, but in enjoying your real lives most of all. This little break for the holidays have been wonderful, and I encourage everyone to make sure not to forget about their real lives. Remember that this is a game.
It is my full intention to become a successful casual gamer this year.. lol. I’ve kind of realized that I’ve used this game to help give me a break from some difficult issues this past year. It gave me a place where I could at least virtually feel like I’ve progressed, when things in real life felt very stagnant, as I’m sure you all can relate, or if not, Good for you! I’m feeling better about some real life things, and I want to make sure I don’t get sucked into the game too much, as many do.
Plus with changes in the game, it will be a more easily attainable task to login just for fun of it, with the new Campaign’s they’ve added, making this game incredibly more flexible, and fun. Now I can do something, and make progress when I can, even a little at a time. Its far better then logging on with nothing I can do, knowing I don’t have enough time to get in a regular party, or soloing for an hour only to find an unfortunate link, and loose more exp then you gained the entire time you were online!
I have been doing Campaign as my bard lately to catch up to Blindrage’s paladin a bit more. If he decides to start playing again, I’ll be closer in level. He as well, has been super busy, and hasn’t had time to play. Maybe when things slow down again though. Here’s me singing for the troops.. lol.
I have always only sought out parties if they were with friends. With Kauri and Kinkykitty, both leaving the game for awhile, and Squeekers spending more time in the real world as well (/cheers to you buddy!) and Blindrage being so busy, I needed a change. Luckily I have found a some other very nice friends over on Ifrit to party with once in awhile. As well as slowly but surely solo’ing on Jilliana when I get the chance which gives me a chance to talk to some of my friends from Ramuh.
Anyway… blah blah blah.. I’m sure you are all tiring of this subject.
So Happy New Year, and with the new year comes the New Year’s Event. Last year it was Bugards, this year its Qiqirn you follow and trade random things to. So I subbed my level 7 ranger for widescan (lol), and headed out to East Ronfaure to find the Qiqirns. I was incredibly lucky I’m sure, and started trading fireworks (that I had gotten from the Christmas event) to the Qiqirn named Lucky Mouse within 4 trades, I actually got all three snowmen, which was all that I was after anyway, as I had gotten the Battledore and the Hoary Spire last year.
snowmen: knight, miner & mage
They are really cute, and each one gives 4 storage spaces! so that was nice.
