LOL, Thought I’d throw that out there. While I didn’t get to the point of actually being able to reach “Sky” in FFXI, I thought it was a little comical in my own weird little mind that after level 10 in Rappelz I was transported to the “Sky”.. hehe. This is only because she is of the Deva Race, and their main city is a floating city in the sky.
Katella’s Cleric and my pet SoleMazed (I didn’t name it) are now both at level 22. I was able to unlock the first level of Restoration. It was fun to use. With it in my arsenal, I went and fought level 25 -28 Mobs. It I’m not sure a class without some kind of healing skill would be able to do that, but I could be wrong. That and I can cast it on any player, not just party members. Party’s can be up to 8 people in Rappelz. It’s definately odd to be a mage and be able to successfully fight things not only the same level, but higher levels as well. (And before any one gets offended, I was speaking more on the end of FFXI whitemage, or blackmage experience, not neccessarily rdm/nin!) I bet as you progress, that will be less likely the case, but who knows. Things like Dungeons and such from the sound of it are trickier than where I have been so far.
I found a helmet off of a mob.. lol
Now I have to admit, at first, I thought this game was kind of “Rinky-dink”, but entertaining enough to enjoy. I’m actually finding that the game seems to have much more functionality than I originally thought, making it more enjoyable.
I found the “Auction House”, I think its called something a bit different, but I don’t remember right now. Their Auction house runs more like an actual Auction, Like a video game version of E-bay if you will.. lol. You bid, and if you are the higest bidder at the end of the set time period, you get the item. Some items even have a “Buy it now” option at a set price.
I also found they have warehouse keepers where you can store items for free. Like a Mog House, without the Mog… and well .. without the house too I suppose.^^ Its just a person you talk to. You can even set aside part of your Rupees (money), and store it in the warehouse. This came in handy when I realized that my character was walking slow not because I had pushed a wrong button, but rather because their character inventory is set up as a weight amount, vs how many total slots you have. **Little hint on this one, if you are a Cleric, you can cast “Blessing of Strength” on yourself, and you’ll move a little bit faster, not alot, but a little bit.. 🙂 **
I also figured out there is a button on the quest menu that does allow you to go and look at where the mobs would be located at. Now to only learn the lay of the land… lol. I’m not sure you can look it up once you’ve completed it though.
I found Blue Pixies as well as Angels last night, they were level 33 and higher, so it will be a bit before I can fight them. I would really like to tame one, but I hear its difficult to get an empty card to do so with, as well as that your taming attempt can be unsuccessful.
As promised, I will explain how you get to the pet skills, though I will have to update some of the pictures later.
When you summon a creature, a little box pops up in the lower right-hand side of your screen. Looking something like:
If you click on it, it will open up creature info. From there you can click on the “Skills” button to manage your pet’s skills. (more pictures coming soon.) This is also the area that you go to to set up that other mysterious bar of “macros” that appears once you have a pet active.
