Points I’m most interested in:
QUESTS!! – I’ve missed you so! It is an intricate piece of enjoyment for me to be able to take on a quest and do it on my own. I hope that most quests are still able to be solo’d, but also look forward to the need to get a party together for certain things. Just as long as not every worthy quest requires a full party, I will be happy.
Re: The Marking of Quest NPC’s – Hopefully this will not be an instance of bright colored exclamation marks above their heads. I’m hoping for something noticeable, but still subtle enough that you don’t feel the need to pick up every quest at once just to get rid of the “neon lights” in town.
CAMERA!! – I sincerely hope that the fixes they mention will alleviate the frustration of camera position while in battle. It is so annoying how the camera reverts back to behind your character. I’m always fighting with it trying to get it to stay to the side so I can better see the battle. This has been a major frustration for my hubby. His big Rogaedyn from the backside doesn’t allow much of a view of what he is doing, especially when he’s fighting marmots. I will be much obliged to not hear about that issue anymore.. lol!
TARGETING!! – Improvements are very welcome! PC & NPC targeting is music to my ears! I’ve so missed that functionality.
Auto MP Regeneration Feature – I think this is going to be a point that is argued as something that might make the game too easy. In my opinion, I think it’s addition is reasonable. If we auto heal over time, it seems reasonable that while not in battle, your magic reserves would also “heal”. Part of me would like to see it stop at there though just like hp regeneration does, and not be something that any one character becomes “in charge” of casting on the group. I’d actually hate to see the return of the “Refresh whore”. If it is a skill/spell, I’d almost hope it was something you could only cast on yourself.
Personal Update: So last night I logged in after whats been another sort of hiatus from FFXIV. I was kind of sad, as Gridania just seemed so completely empty, and I love it there. I don’t really want to spend all my time in Uldah.
I had been messing around with archer, before my break, and so I started working on it again. I’m actually really actually enjoying that job which is a total surprise to me. I never had been a fan of ranger in XI, or anything like that, but I don’t know if its just something different that makes it nice, or if its just that it is actually different in some way that makes shooting little arrows more enjoyable. Having them stack to 999 is quite awesome, and when I can carry around a couple stacks and not have to run back to get more, or keep 20 smaller stacks on me, that is definitely a plus.
Anyhow, so I logged in with the intention of just running around for a few minutes and saw that there was a Behest. I signed up and joined a group that set to do it. A little nervous at first as there were three archers (counting me) and one gladiator. We ran through it and I ended up ranking up almost twice during that Behest. Afterwards one of the members asked if I’d like to join them occasionally and invited me to join their LS. I’m hoping I will be able to play enough to join them. I will continue to work on my archer and hopefully catch up with their group.
At a sitting that was seriously Behest, roaming party, then Behest again, I had gone from level 13 to level 17. It was very cool. 🙂 If I can get in a few more nights like that, hopefully I can catch up quickly and be a bit social occasionally again. Would be so nice!
