So in the quiet while we (at times not so) patiently await our realm being reborn, I often find that in my desire to devour anything that is out there regarding the return of our beloved Eorzea, that I end up coming across things that I might not have originally ever seen had it not been for this downtime. In honesty I’d probably be spending more time playing rather than sprawling FFXIV terms across a google search bar, and finding unique treasures.
As of late, I’ve been particularly drawn to Google Images, in hopes of finding ARR pictures I’d somehow missed. What have I found most often? To be honest… I find more Fan Art…. and this is in no means a bad thing.
Fan Art is something kind of dear to my heart and something I personally identify with. Am I an artist? No.. that skill is not something I’ve managed to acquire. That said, I do view art as being a direct counterpart to my own way of expression which happens to be writing. Its the very same type of thoughts and personal emotions that drive people to write stories, as it is to create an artistic masterpiece. Both are done in the intention to honor something which the individual has a real appreciation for.
Its something that I wish I was exposed to more often than I am, as there is some really under appreciated works out there.
It is for that very reason that I’m kind of making it a goal of my own to at least once a month (even after the game returns), to search out pieces of fan art that I believe deserves some attention. I hope you’ll come along for the ride. 🙂
Likely my focus will lend heavily on the FFXIV themed pieces, but that is not to say it won’t ever include whatever random thing I come across that I have an appreciation for. 🙂 I imagine it will range from cartoon comics to more realistic depictions of the game. Whatever strikes my fancy… hahaha.
So without further ado I present my first incredible find!

On December 17th 2012, the blogger here posted the completion of a project he had been working on titled “Happy 25th Anniversary Final Fantasy!!!” in which they actually created Vintage Final Fantasy Themed Posters based off of multiple entries of the franchise. The results were very cool, and I encourage you to check out the link above.
