Monday 11/18/13 “Mender’s Monday”
Mender’s Monday was was again held at the Wolves Den.. mostly because I got busy and forgot to update the website to read anything different. It is a very cool place to hold it though. If there was fishing, a market board, and a npc who could fix your gear there, it would be an amazing place for group crafting. This particular Mender’s Monday was exciting for me though as I got my Alchemist to level 50 during it. I made Lanolin that got me pretty close, then I went and turned in a few leves for it and got there. Yay!!🙂
After achieving 50, the newest Lightning Strikes Quest had been released so I went and did that. I have to say, I actually really like the Lightning event. As with most things, it seems that the biggest complainers are those who are in a hurry and push their way through things the first day and judge the whole thing based on their impatience rather than the quality of the actual event. I was very pleased to get to Chapter 3 this night where you ended up with a nice cutscene with Lightning. Moral of the story: when you end up waiting until the crowd dies down a little and then go do it, the whole event experience becomes much more enjoyable. I actually can’t wait for the final quest on the 20th. The picture below is all the pieces I have so far! Just waiting for the quest for the top! ^^
After that, and because I didn’t plan well, I realized I hadn’t done any of the Alchemy quests in the process of leveling, so I went ahead and worked through all of those. I really like how they still manage to give you a story to enjoy, even at the end of a crafting class.🙂
Shortly after I logged in on Tuesday, Odin was up. I joined a party and went out to Urth’s Font where he was at. This area is very small for fighting Odin. When I got there there were already tons of dead players, so I went to work raising people. That is all I seemed to do the entire fight.. lol. Unfortunately, by the end, so many were already dead that we didn’t actually win.. still, it was fun. Its crazy the domino effect that happens when Zantetsuken goes off.. lol. The following picture was still after a ton had already teleported away. I think it was the most dead I’d seen in a single area ever.
After that, Nib Nae (whm), Lt Death (smn), and then later Sunny Day(smn) all joined me (brd) in some Wanderer’s Palace runs. It was a unique night for me in that the range of people we ended up with filling the tank roll for us. It went from one that we suspected of actually being a bot of some kind (because he seemed to often auto-follow behind the DD for the most part) to the abstract opposite.
There was an awesome tank we had named Sika Bambi who I actually looked up as being on the Hades server. Sika was so fast, held hate so well letting us go all out, and something that impressed me the very most… when regen was on him still at the end of a fight, he would actually remove it himself before pulling the next mob! I’ve never seen a tank ever be that aware! Kudos to Sika Bambi! It was a pleasure being in a Duty Finder group with you!🙂
Because of those runs, I was able to get my Thyrus +1 finished out!
