Mostly pictures in this huge unorganized update.. at some point I’ll get back into writing a bit more.. ^^
Much to my delight, and to the detriment of my pocketbook.. soon after logging in to FFXIV once the patch hit, I purchased my private chambers. I had been saving purposefully for quite awhile. A few weeks before the patch, I had even started collecting certain items such as a Deluxe Manor Fireplace before prices would surely skyrocket on furniture. Furnishings that had at the time been pretty impossible to sell.
But in the mean time.. here are a few shots of my place! My Retainer brought me back my Carbuncle Armchair! Its one of my favorite pieces! Also really like my potted tree.. I bought it primarily because of its tool tip reading. Lucked out that it is pretty great looking as well.. It’s tool tip said something along the lines of those in its presence could not tell a lie. ^^ Love the fun tool tip text. I made the carpets and the couch and desk chair. Looks like I missed getting a picture of my “kitchen” area, but maybe I’ll add one in later. Here is most of my room. I’m currently at 49/50 items. O.o
Here I am showing off more of my room in the Divine Harvest Gear I had gotten that same day! 🙂
Here I am training my new Naughty Nanki pet. I won this during a Hullbreaker Isle run.. and he is naughty.. He jumped and hit Mini Ninja just seconds after I pulled him out the first time!
Pico let us come take a look at the progress coming along in his room too! It already looks pretty cool with some pretty amazing things that he crafted himself!
Mini and I were a little exhausted so took a quick nap during our tour.. 🙂
This could have been a little why we were a bit tired…
Tried out the new dungeons with Blindrage and some fellow FC members. Overall I do enjoy the new dungeons, though I thought Stone Vigil HM ended up being not as grand as I had imagined.
Here is my first time being “thrown” around in Hullbreaker Isle.
Above all, Tam-Tara is my favorite of the new additions! It ‘s story is one of the first “dungeon” stories that I actually felt a part of because of the history and the NPC involved. Its story is really creepy, which is not something I tend to enjoy necessarily, but I really did this time around. The only thing I’d really change would be that at the end after winning , I wish the fan faire did not play, and that the final sounds matched your character’s emotional state at that time. This dungeon is also one of the few where it actually tends to make things noticeably easier if you have a truly balanced party. Tank , Healer, Magic DPS & Melee DPS.
Here is Mini Ninja in her rendition of David Tennant’s 10th Doctor… not bad.. not bad at all. 🙂 Death Cutie and I were trying to look as Gallifreian as one possibly can in FFXIV.
We ran Syrcus Tower (CT2) as well. That place is completely gorgeous! Even managed a full 24-man FC run, but didn’t get to finish it as no one really knew the content yet, and people had to go. We’ll try again later.. can’t wait for 2.35 when we can actually queue as 24 man groups and not have to use an obscure unused queue selection to go together!
First few runs I participated in the very first day were pretty crazy.. people running around as they were learning the fights. Luckily on our server, I can say that after the first couple of days, things evened out quite a bit. The last few times I’ve gone in, it has been pretty pleasant.
I really like the community on Masamune. One of the things I truly appreciate about being in the JP Datacenter is the calm and quiet that can be observed while learning new content. Duty Finder doesn’t subject you to a lot of nonsensical chit chat. People are mostly trying to figure things out for themselves and are overall pretty helpful and nice about it once they do.
Its not perfect here mind you, and I do occasionally run into those who are overly opinionated vocally (or even bit delusional about) their own abilities/intelligence.. and those others who are plain unable/unwilling to figure out how to effectively communicate with other cultures and throw their hands up in the air and give up if they might have to actually use “auto-translate” for something, but luckily those aren’t actually daily occurrences. For the most part I can get things accomplished if I try, and this community is able to get things done when they actually try despite any perceived barriers.
I do wish that more English speakers had a little more gumption and personal drive to actually initiate things on this server instead of just complaining about seeing Party Finder littered with “JP Only” groups. Part of the reason that “JP Only” groups are so noticeable is because the Japanese seem to utilize party finder much more than English ever do here. I’m convinced that many English forget it even exists.. until our friends aren’t all on and when we want to do some of the more challenging content. When we do… for some reason we are surprised that some of that more difficult content entries listed is labeled “JP Only” because the initiator wants to be able to easily convey ideas and communicate. This is less offensive when you understand why.
We have a tendency to make things appear far worse than they really are. So many times I’ve been in a group, where a Japanese member says something in chat.. something like すみません｡ or ごめんなさい｡when something has gone wrong. I don’t know what it is about our culture, but we automatically think the worst case scenario and jump to conclusions. Many often assuming that the Japanese member is probably upset at the party or regretting having to play with English party members. I’ve even heard these comments being made in voice/fc/ or ls chat and it silly because it all based off of our own insecurity rather than anything real. If you stop to learn or even just translate either of those statements, you would come to find out that the person themselves is apologizing to the party.
You know what happens when you assume… ^^
Anyway..back to the first point, which was to say that there would be English groups in Party Finder too if English speakers would start posting things more often rather than just “waiting” for someone else to make a party they could then join. I’m personally trying to get in the habit of using Party Finder a bit more to create parties and encouraging others to do so as well. Its not like we have limited English speakers on this server.. we have plenty.. they just tend to keep to themselves and do things with the same groups all the time. Perhaps we are the ones needing to be more social.. lol
Wow that went on quite a tangent.. lets get back to the update…
The story for CT2 I found interesting as well. I genuinely liked the NPC’s from Allag and hope to help them in the future. I can’t wait to see more! The very next patch will be more Coil I know, but the final Crystal Tower should be the patch after that, and then that side story will be done. I never played FFIII, so this has all been new to me.
The gear for CT2 is pretty crazy though. Here is someone sporting Amon’s Hat~
I’ve been able to come away from CT2 Runs with an Unknown Allagan Tomestone, and the Healing robe.. which.. looks far better on taller characters. Mine will likely go quickly to my closet.. lol.
Here is my first Chocobo Training… I was actually hoping that it would be a little minigame, but its just a few cutscenes… Hopefully they will add something a bit more interactive in it as time goes on.
The Ramuh fight I’m enjoying quite a bit. The first few days I ended up queuing up pretty often to help fc members and random people alike with their story. Here is a screenshot from when I went with Nicos for his story. 🙂
Ramuh EX is fun, I actually really like it though there hasn’t been a ton of people very often to do it with. I think many are focusing more on Hunts to get items right now. Even Coil parties seem to have become a bit more rare. I’m hoping to go far more often once people have gotten around to unlocking Ramuh EX and maybe are wanting to try something else rather than just hopping zones looking for marks.
Participated in a few Frontlines. Sadly I didn’t really tak any pictures in there but I actually enjoyed myself which was surprising to me as I typically don’t care all that much for PVP, but SE has done a pretty decent job I think. I ended up using the seals I earned to get a new vanity body piece to glamor for my bard. I’m really liking it.
I also bought one of the PVP bows for glamor as well. I think it kinda matches my outfit well.
Speaking of Glamor.. I spotted a few other people in augmented AF that actually looked pretty decent. 🙂 Its really expensive, so probably not something I’ll be trying to do any time soon.. but maybe eventually.
Participated in some Hunts… boy those things are crazy.. and a bit draining on your finances!
Finished up my last book for my Animus this week!
While doing so I found this leve… Fernhawles..why? Why must I take you out? You are one of my favorite Community Reps!
Went sightseeing during a Fate party with Nicos and Mini ^^
Milled around with some other friends.. not sure when this one was actually lol… ^^
… and Unlocked and did some of the Moogle delivery quests.. lol
Overall enjoying this patch. Still have a few things to finish up and unlock… Like Hildebrandt.. but I’ll get there. Time to go though, so hopefully see you in Eorzea later!
