It’s so very good to be able to talk about FFXIV ingame things again here on my blog! Its been pretty hard to not be able to talk about anything ingame and I’m really glad that they decided for the partial NDA lift. Especially since I had so much fun last night at Denmo’s March of the Lala’s event and I’d be really sad if I couldn’t share it here! I had mentioned this event on our Distant World Linkshell page, and actually had been pleasantly surprised about the interest.
We ended up with at least 23 of our Distant World members showing up! Probably more, but that was the count of the quick list I could remember this morning.. lol. We saw many other recognizable names, Denmo (forums), Niqote Amirita (forum artist), Virgil (forum artist), Calaera (Zantetsuken), Orophen (Zantetsuken), Bayohne (SE Community rep), and many many others. Turnout was so good for this event, it was reported that Ultros server’s character creation ended up being closed for a short time.. lol.
A sea of Lalas all gathered in Uldah. We definitely gave the beta server a real stress test, that is for certain! Here is about an hour before the event started, people had already started showing up at the meeting spot!
Soon we were instructed to start gathering on the stairs…
What was that?.. in an orderly fashion you say?… oh ok… lol
We had a few minutes to mingle before the event started… For me it was great chance to see some familiar names! Those who have been on my blog for awhile may remember that there was a point in time where I actually contributed to a fan site called FFXIVblog.com.. Calaera now of Zantetsuken had been a fellow contributor to that site. I think I’d seen Dario there too, though wasn’t sure it was him or someone with a similar name. That FFXIVblog.com site is now gone, but it was nice to see these community members still being an active part of the FFXIV community!.. 🙂
Incidently, if you don’t yet know about Zantetsuken.net, I strongly encourage you to check it out. They have some real fun podcasts and informative articles over there.. Soon we were actively listening to the events instructions.. 🙂
The line began to form, and soon we were on our way! One thing I want to point out in this picture, is not everyone rendered probably more because of my mediocre graphics card.. so as you walked towards the tail of the line, more lalafells would show up, and the ones behind you would disappear.. lol.. impressive amount is already shown in my pictures, but there were even more!
Allons-y! Gridania Here we come!
The trip was full of adventure!
By now it was definitely on the right track to being an amazing event… ok bad pun.. couldn’t help it.. ^^
Our first Lala Lemming Vista Dives…
Another Lala Lemming vista dive….. lol
Who is this statue of?….
Oh! Is it Denmo pointing the way?
We took a quick respite on the stairs there before journeying on!
All right heading out again!!
Yet another Lala Lemming Vista Dive… ^^
Little Ala Mhigo
I guess its been about 5 years since I’ve been here… praying
Time to keep on, keeping on
Absolutely beautiful at night!
Ran into some F.A.T.E’s along the way…. we were a bit low.. lol, but ended up winning anyway.. haha
We did it! We reached Camp Tranquil in the Black Shroud!… almost there!
Was half expecting to see the aether become dim with all of us using it at once…
Through the Druthers
We needed a drink after that long walk!!………….
Finally, New Gridania’s aether crystal!
A few of our Distant World members had already left by the end, but we pulled the remaining together for a quick picture!
Some other community members came and joined us as well!
It was so much fun! It was an amazing night……*sniff* *sniff*… Is it really time to go? I
I’d love to see more of these “Open Community” events in the future! I’m excited up about what fun things can be orchestrated in the future! Bravo Denmo McStronghuge! Well Done! I hope eventually The Twelve, and Yoshi-P bless you, and that you are able to grow in that perfect beard you are looking for!
