In Shaiya, my Katella elf mage is now level 19 and has some cute new armor. 🙂 Overall impression of this game is alright. Its definately fun when you get to see progress pretty quickly, and armor changes and not having to buy armor all the time is nice as well. I love it when monsters drop the next set of armor my mage needs! and between that and the quests, I’ve bought maybe two items, and for cheap!
Shaiya’s Cons are that its still a PVP, so you will occasionally get PK’d, but I’ve been PK’d once in this game where in Rappelz it is a more common occurance.
My frustration with Rappelz is mostly centered around the concentration of PVP players that run through just killing everyone they come upon. The system isn’t even balanced to where you have much of a chance once someone has you in their sights. Healer’s are easy targets in Rappelz. The idea of picking on the “weak”, or picking on others in general for the mere obsene pleasure of seeing someone else’s character go down is really foreign to me. I really wouldn’t even enjoy seeing someone I don’t like’s character go down. I haven’t played Rappelz much lately, partly because of the attitude, and partly because my character doesn’t seem to get any Stamina back unless I log her in and leave her in town unattended, and don’t do much with her, because if I do, she looses Stamina.
They say they are supposed to get Stamina back even while you are logged out, but I’ve proved multiple times that that isn’t the case. She’s had 2/5000 stamina for awhile now. I even left her logged in and went to bed and still only had 250/5000 when I got up in the morning. Its ridiculious that Rappelz punishes you for playing, because stamina drops much faster than you get it back. I could go play for an hour and use up the stamina I got back until the bar is red again, and it would be days before any would come back.
Homecoming
Since this is the month of my birth ^^ – one of my presents is that I get FFXI for this month. Last night I logged in and played with Kauri, helping to get Kauri’s dancer to 9. The idea is to get her to 10 so that I can pick up one of my level 10 jobs to play with her. My goal this month is to get as close to 75 as possible. She is 9k into level 73. It was so nice playing FFXI again. The people are in general more polite and helpful, but I think that might be a little due to the fact that FFXI’s developers put things in place to foster more honorable game play.
So my ratings are (not that anyone else would care.. lol) FFXI (x10) > Shaiya > Rappelz
