Those accidental screenshots when you capture looks that your character makes… she looks very pleased with herself doesn’t she? It seems fitting for this update because over the past couple of week quite a lot has happened!
Last week was my wedding anniversary, so we did the normal “out to dinner” thing, and then came back and did something that is more fitting to our personalities… We played Minecraft.. haha! Well we played “Tekkit” which is a separate Minecraft Launcher with a selection of specialized mod packs. The mod pack we chose, I’m actually very excited about, as I had a great time with it! So much new things to mess with that it revitalizes the experience if you are like us and have played Minecraft for awhile, but are wanting something new!
Here is us on our Anniversary playing around.. Not the best of recordings, I think our audio finally starts working about 13 minutes in.
Here are a couple other Let’s Players that have shown off this Mod Pack: BdoubleO or Paul Soars Jr
One mod makes different mobs spawn with a huge selection of crazy hats! When you kill the mob, you get the hat and get to switch between them. In addition, once you defeat a mob, you get to use their skin! Here is me wearing my “Fox” hat!!
If you take out a bat, then you can become one and fly all around! You can even set it so that when disguised as a Zombie, that other hostile mobs will leave you alone! (Though its not on by default – you have to turn it on.) Another mod allows you to cut blocks into smaller and smaller pieces! So many more trees and plants and berries, and so many new blocks and biomes with interesting things to explore! Carpenter’s Blocks and Furniture mods etc.. so many new things to check out!!
If you want to try it out here is where you can download the launcher.
Here is my house on my new single player map… and yes! The radio actually works!! You can even have a TV that plays three different things, one of which is He-man!! haha
Another thing I did last week was try out the Wildstar Beta. Here is my Wildstar Beta Character Avenlea!
A fun distraction for a bit. 🙂 Especially once you get to meet up with friends! Here is my Avenlea with Mini Ninja’s character Eliora on the Olyssia server! 🙂 Had a dance party with Mini, Sunny, Sounsyy, and Obisi! Was fun! Thanks guys for finding me!!
Back in Final Fantasy XIV, We had our temporary farewell coil run with our static member scholar – Zoe Bell (in her new Highlander form). Zoe is off the game for 16 weeks as she focuses on finishing up her degree! So proud of her for getting things done! So important to prioritize real life things and get things set up, so that when you do play, you can really enjoy yourself! We’re so proud of you Zoe, and can’t wait to see you back in 16 weeks when you’ll be a scholar in real life and ingame!!
Messed around with my hud again, and replaced the three “Utility” hotbars I was using in the bottom corner with one hotbar and the cross hotbar. I never use controller, so figured I might as well utilize the extra 8 hotbars!
I went in and made the cross-hotbar visible, and then made it very small, and threw it in the lower right hand corner of my screen. Then I used one of the regular hotbars underneath it to control what cross-hotbar shows up! You can do this by making a macro like
/chotbar 2
The cross hotbar shown in the picture below is my default one, but I have one cross hotbar dedicated to “Party” things (ready check / party hello & goodbye macro, diablos explanation macro, etc), a cross-hotbar dedicated to emotes, to minions, to food & potions, etc.. anyway it was really nice to have that flexibility!
The only thing I was very frustrated to find out during this process, was that they have insanely limited the amount of macro icon pictures available to use with utility macros. That is the reason for all the boring arrows.. ><
So for the past couple weeks it had been bugging me a bit that I still hadn’t really spent any time on getting Titan EX done as I’m really wanting to fight Leviathin. I queued up 4 or 5 times, and finally got a win! Yay!
After that I tried out Ifrit EX with Maki, and totally wasn’t expecting to win. The team we had was very messy, kind of killing each other by exploading healers getting too close, and people running eruptions into each other and things like that. The interesting thing though, was that this random PUG team had determination, and did get a little better each attempt, and did not give up! Because they were willing to not just rage-quit and leave, we got our win, and I ended up getting my long-time goal of the Elfin Bow!
Was so nice to finally get that off my list, and now I can finally fight Leviathin and maybe get a weapon from there! So excited!
Spent some time Atma farming this past weekend, and came across this guy on his new bomb mount!
I had actually sort of given up on the prospect because initially when everyone was doing atma the first few weeks, I had such bad luck, and I didn’t want to spend so much time not really gaining any ground. These last two weekends while queuing up for Titan EX, Ifrit EX, and Turn 5, I spent that time out and about atma farming.
After a lot of running around, I finally finished up getting all 12 of my atma!
Here is my very last screenshot with my Artemis Zenith… all glowy and pretty….
Yay! Artemis Atma is mine!! Now onto the myth grinding!
Merik got his just a few hours before! So.. in normal fashion, we got our customary dual bard screenshot. A tradition we’ve had since 1.0 and the many moogle bow runs we did! Here is both of us with our new Artemis Atma bows!
